Happy, Fashionable Easter!

A few cute rabbits for easter!

Zuzanna Bijoch - Polish Fresh Face

Polish models are storming the runways. Another example is this beautiful 18 year old, currently ranked #26 on Models.com Zuzanna Bijoch. Her debut in 2011 was very impressive - Miuccia Prada chose her to be the face of her campaign. She appeared in YSL's lookbook, in a Louis Vuitton campaign, was the face of YSL mascara, in the 2012 Spring/Summer campaign of Alexander McQueen...
She has been walking in all the major runway shows during fashion weeks worldwide (list below).
She's been already on the cover of Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Elle. This young beauty has achieved very much in the industry. Personally I'm a huge fan of her look so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for her future career!

Fashion in Art - Jack Vettriano

This is exactly why I love fashion - it's everywhere! It's not only on the runway, among fashionistas - it's also in art.
Another painter that I love for his elegant creations is Jack Vettriano.
This controversial scottish painter causes quite a commotion. His paintings have met as much praise as criticism. Nevertheless, many celebrities (for example Jack Nicholson or Sir Alex Ferguson) collect his works, so one may say this artist has to be doing something right. I personally am a fan of his work and find certain mysterious refinement in the pictures he creates.
Here is the link to his webpage is you'd like to check out more of his work:

Adrian Wlodarski - Polish Class(ic)

Adrian Włodarski is a polish model. He is been in the business for almost a decade and has walked since then for the most important brands in the industry - Calvin Klein, Gucci, Prada, Versace, Lanvin, Roberto Cavalli - those are just a few. He was the face of Lanvin's Fall/Winter 09/10 collection, of Prada Spring/Summer 08. This year he is the face of the luxurious brand Pierre Cardin Spring/Summer 2013.
He is known for his square jaw, cheekbones and class. There is elegance in his presence.
What may be surprising however, is how unknown in Poland he is. I simply feel he is underrated in my country. People don't have bigger problems naming a few polish female models - Rubik, Frackowiak etc but when it comes to male models it's just sad, especially that we have a few very good ones. That's why I say - promote male models! Show them we're proud to have them! So this is my Adrian Włodarski tribute...

21st Century the Age of Skinny & Ugly Models?

To be honest the fashion world annoys me sometimes. For example watching the Fall 2013 RTW shows, what I often did was I covered with my hand the faces of the models. They were just so ugly! I must say I just don't understand on what basis agencies pick their models. A model is, or at least sadly to say, used to be, a beautiful woman. Little girls browsing through magazines would point their little fingers and say "Mommy I want to look like her when I grow up!". Well, now such a mommy could get a heart attack seeing some of the girls in magazines. This is just an issue that's been on my mind lately. And not only mine. Many people I talk to share very similar opinions. Both men and women confess that they think many models nowadays simply look like monsters. That's why when a genuinely gorgeous models appears in the fashion industry I clap my hands and smile. But why is it that with every season we get uglier and uglier girls? Not to mention skinnier and skinnier? Of course there are some people in the industry that fight problems such as eating disorders among models. Still the average size of a 180 cm woman is mostly 34.
In the 50's models were beautiful and feminine. Of course they were slim, but they had curves. Some models on the runways today barely even have hips! For crying out loud what is going on?! Why are women, who are presenting clothes that I'm supposed to want to buy, so... unwomanly? How can women all over the world, with the average size over 40, relate to these skinny things?
The fashion industry, presenting us with these thin girls is setting unrealistic standards for children. 12-13 year old girls fall into eating disorders because they want to look like those air-brushed women on covers of magazines. Kate Moss with her famous quote "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels". How can you do that to future generations?
This craziness in the world of fashion is going too far. People have to start doing things about this.
Many cases of industry models who have been called too fat also appear. Coco Rocha, Ananda Marchildon who was fired even from her agency.

Fall 2013 RTW Paris - Part 3

Sadly, as all good things, the Paris Fashion Week has come to an end. I must say although I did find many interesting looks, lots of inspiration, I am a bit disappointed. I feel like there is something missing.
The last shows were the, so to speak, fancy ones. Alexander McQueen, Valentino etc.
Being a huge fan of Elie Saab I could basically post most of his looks here. Similairly to this fall proposal from Valentino - loved! so many!
Thankfully, in fashion new things appear all the time, you can't get bored. After these intense fahsion-filled weeks comes the time of coping with all the creations you saw. I am overflowing with inspiration and ideas, one may say I'm "fashion high".
Enjoy the last images from the Fall 2013 Ready-To-Wear collections! (Images from style.com)

  • Elie Saab - As I mentioned earlier, he is one of my all time favorite designers. His gowns so many times capture the essence of my taste. Sometimes looking at this mans creations, I almost feel like we know each other personally. I feel almost like he is designing directly for me. All my love to Elie!

  • Alexander McQueen - One may argue for these looks being ready-to-wear. Nevertheless no one can deny the fact that they are truly masterpieces. This one especially caught my attention. The queen-like spirit to it is capturing.

  • Hermès - Simple yet elegant, a classic black suit-white shirt combo. Would go to my wardrobe!

  • Valentino - Last but surely NOT least. Long show but worth watching. Even though a bit puritanic, very beautiful. Elegance and class.

Beautiful polish fresh face - Magdalena Jasek

Manon! I think I'm obsessed!
